The more Website links to your Domain Website, the higher will be your ranking in major Search Engines. This is especially important for Google Page Rank(Google's unique Domain Ranking system). The higher your Domain's Search Engine Rank, the more people will be able to find you in major Search Engines. This, in turn, boosts your monthly visitors to your Website.

The higher your Domain Link Popularity & monthly Click-through Traffic, the higher your Appraisal value for your Domain Name.

 

  1. Domain Name Word Count

    • How many words does your Domain contain?

    • Does your Domain Name contain abbreviations, acronyms, prefixes or suffixes?

Each abbreviation, acronym, prefix or suffix is also considered one word. e.g. eshop.com = 2 words.

The most valuable Domain Names consist of few words. Two/three words are good, and four words are about the limit. Single word Domains have the highest value on the Domain Name Reseller Market with exchange value of up to $1,000,000 e.g. computer.com, car.com.

    • Is your Domain Name easy to type?

When it comes to Domain Names, shorter is better.

EXAMPLE: carwash.com (7 characters) is appraised less than car.com (3 characters),
fastsearchengine.com (16 chars) is appraised less than searchengine.com
(12 chars).

 

  1. Hyphenated Domain Names

    • Is your Domain Name hyphenated?

Each abbreviation, acronym, prefix or suffix is also considered one word. e.g. eshop.com = 2 words.

Although Hyphenated Domains usually don't sell as well,  it's very useful to register a Domain Name with hyphens, to improve Search Engine ranking, if you own the non-hyphenated version too.

EXAMPLE: car-prices.com is appraised less than carprices.com
compare-car-prices.com has a low Appraisal value.

The Appraisal value for a Domain Name with Numerals is lower than a Domain without Numbers.

EXAMPLE: top10.com is appraised less than topten.com etc.

 

  1. Domain Names with Substitutions

    • Does your Domain Name contain Substitutions?

Domain Name  with Substitutions has a lower Appraisal value  than Domains without.

Some commonly used Substitutions are: i.e. "2" instead of "to", "k" instead of "c", "4" instead of "for", "ez" instead of "easy", "u" instead of "you"  etc.

EXAMPLE: 2morrow.com is appraised less than tomorrow.com.
ezshop.com has a higher Appraisal value than easyshop.com
computer4sale.com is appraised less than computerforsale.com
computers4u.com is appraised less than computersforyou.com

 

  1. Domain Name with Abbreviations

    • Does your Domain Name contain Abbreviations?

The Appraisal value of a Domain with Abbreviations is lower than a Domain without Abbreviations.

EXAMPLE: wallst.com is appraised less than wallstreet.com

 

  1. Domain Name Clarity

    • Can your Domain Name describe its content?

    • Can your Domain be associated with a product, a service, a brand, etc.?

    • Is your Domain easily brandable?

A Domain Name that very easily describes it's product, service, or brand has a higher Appraisal value than a Domain that does not describe it very clearly. A Domain Name that can easily used for a good Brand Name has a higher Appraisal value than a Domain that would not make a good Brand Name.

EXAMPLE: BookShop.com or FastBanking.com have a great development potential
since they describe their contents perfectly clear, therefore their Appraisal value
is higher than a Domain like SaveYourMoney.com.
CityBank.com has a higher Appraisal value than BankWithUs.com since it is
easily brandable.

 

  1. Domain Name Memorability

    • Will people easily remember your Domain Name?

    • Will people easily recognize your Domain Name?

A Domain Name should be easy to remember and easy to recognize. The easier to remember, the higher its Appraisal value will be. Moreover a good Domain Name is hard to misspell.

EXAMPLE: Escrow.com, News.com, are very easy to remember and easy to spell.
cyberwebdiscountcoupons.com is difficult to remember, therefore it's Appraisal
value is lower than Escrow.com.
Entrepreneur.com is hard to spell, therefore it's Appraisal value is lower than
News.com

 

  1. Domain Name Marketability

    • How profitable is your Domain Name?

    • How large is the market your Domain is targeting?

    • Does your Domain apply to the entire or small part of the Domain market?

A Domain Name such as driedflowers.com is without a doubt appraised less than familycars.com. The reason is that dried-flowers market is less profitable.

EXAMPLE: vintagecars.com is appraised less than cars.com since it applies to a minor
portion of the industry.
The Appraisal value of chairs.com is less than to furniture.com, since it applies
to a smaller market.
